Houston-based Ascend Performance Materials Texas will build a $1.2 billion propane production plant in Alvin, Gov. Rick Perry said in a statement. Bonham ISD decided last year to add five propane powered school buses to their fleet. They received two of these school buses powered by clean burning Propane on Friday March 1st. McCraw Propane donates the first tank fill at their location on North Center street in Bonham.

As one of the few school districts in Texas using propane fueled buses, the Conroe Independent School District will benefit from tax credits on those buses in 2012 and 2013.
